HIPAA & OSHA Refresher

HIPAA & OSHA Refresher Trainings

The information on this page is for students who have previously completed the full HIPAA or OSHA Training for your first year in your program and are now required to update one or both trainings. Note that OSHA Training is an annual requirement for everyone while HIPAA Training is only an annual requirement for students in Nursing, Pharmacy, and Long-Term Care. Please refer to Complio and to your program requirements to confirm what you need to do.

Accessing Refresher Trainings in HuskyCT & Submitting to ADB/Complio

  1. Log into HuskyCT
  2. You should already be enrolled in the Office of Clinical Placement Coordination (OCPC) non-course site in HuskyCT, so navigate to that site.
  3. Click into the HIPAA Training module and advance through your completed content to the 2023 HIPAA Refresher. Watch the video training and click "Reviewed" once complete. There is no quiz for the HIPAA Refresher, so you will then be able to access your 2023 HIPAA Refresher Certificate of Completion.
  4. Click into the OSHA Training module and advance through your completed content to the 2023 OSHA Refresher. Watch the video training and click "Reviewed" once complete. Complete the quiz with at least 5 out of 6 questions correct to access your 2023 OSHA Refresher Certificate of Completion.
  5. Click “My Certificates of Completion” in the left menu to access your certificate(s), which you will need to download or screenshot and to Complio using the corresponding Refresher HIPAA Training and Refresher OSHA Training requirements. Note for Nursing, Long-Term Care Administration, and Pharmacy students: You will see a combined HIPAA/OSHA Certification category in Complio where you will submit your certificates using the corresponding requirements.
  6. Note: You must submit your refresher certificates to the corresponding requirements labeled "Refresher HIPAA Training" and "Refresher OSHA Training" (requirements available in the dropdown menu when you click "Enter Requirements" from your Complio home screen). Do not add them to your full training requirements, and do not replace your existing HIPAA or OSHA requirements with the new training details.
